Dreams

When have you last dreamt about something? Do you still dream? Do you think you can achieve your dreams? Is dreaming a worthwhile thing these days? How many dreams have you accomplished? Does day dreaming make sense anymore? Have you accomplished one single dream of your childhood days? Are dreams bad? Why don’t you dream or do you dream?

I have stopped dreaming in life. The usual day today life just ensures that I don’t dream at all. I just live life and try to cope up with the financial pressures and society. I really don’t know why I do this but I do. I guess most of us live life just the way I am living if you accept it then you are brave else you are different. If you are different, I am glad that you are. I have not seen many guys who are different. Why I say different is not because they are genetically different or they don’t belong to human species. The fact remains that they are not following the societal norms of living life but living life on their own terms dreaming.

You have to dream before your dreams can come true.

– A P J Abdul Kalam

We would have dreamt big things in life. When we were kids there were no boundaries at all. We could dream anything and everything was possible and as we grow the boundaries start to appear from nowhere and all of a sudden the possible things become impossible. The dreams are always possible I guess. Being kid is always wonderful and that is when you can really enjoy the life. (These days’ kids are not kids there is not even an ounce of innocence in them anymore. I really don’t know why this is happening.)

Why do we lose the importance of dreams and don’t give any significance to it as we grow older and older. As we start to step into our school, grades and ranks are important than playing games in the ground. As we move to high school, we want to become some professional. We start working hard to become one. (I wanted to become a computer engineer just because I was fascinated with it when I first saw it when I was in fourth standard. It was one thing that I really wanted to see myself as and I am glad I did accomplish it.) In the process of becoming someone else we start losing ourselves. We struggle hard to become one and we do achieve it at the cost of many things. We are all controlled by someone else. I have seen some people study engineering and medical just because of their parents and not they wanted. How ridiculous that can be!!

Are we really interested in what we do? I guess not, but we fake interest and start doing things just because we have to do and not because we love to do.

We have given up our dreams. We don’t want to take chance in life and we are scared if we don’t make it as per society demands us of and also we are scared of being a failure if we don’t follow the tested path. We think society keeps thinking about us. The truth is no one cares about you except yourself and we keep assuming million things and this is one.

Life has to be productive and we want to be practical, we can’t be dreaming stupid things and instead do things that look productive. Have you thought why have you given up your dreams? You started thinking that they are just silly and you no longer cherish it. People who have achieved great heights have thought that their silly dreams are the best and held with it and they have made it. That is the power of dreams.

Great dreams of great dreamers are always transcended.

– A P J Abdul Kalam

Don’t just stop believing your dreams. Cherish your dreams. It is really worth it. Life is beautiful. Being practical is good but do have dreams. You never know what is possible from you. Hope you do something brilliant and world will look at you. I wish you all success.

First of all, congrats on the new look of your website ! It looks young and fresh ! Good job.

Good article ! I agree with the statement that “The truth is no one cares about you except yourself and we keep assuming million things and this is one”

Lot of people worry about the society / peers / family / friends – what will they think, which increases ‘ keeping up with Jones’ attitude.

    thanks.

    @Ritesh:

    Thank you so much.

I agree that we are having the “Keeping up with Jones” as you rightly pointed out. I wish to follow my dreams and one of them is my financial goal. It seems good as of now. Hoping things become better.

I appreciate your comments and I am really happy that you liked the new look of it.

    Keep Visiting.

    Hi Saravanan

I am a frequent visitor of your blog and don’t worry I will keep on reading because I have your website saved in my favorites.

Just a little note – my comment was a little bit off the topic of DREAMS – I read mostly personal finance / frugal living blogs so the comment was more inclined towards those topics.

    Thanks
