Markets are choppy

Last 5 days markets seem to be either very positive or negative. It was just a roller coaster ride. The markets went up and up on one day and next day it went down. I wonder what is going on with the investor’s sentiment. Aren’t they happy with the current scenario or not? What is it that is bothering the investors? I read couple of articles last week about the economy and most of the financial experts think that the economy is on the way to recovery although they have the usual disclaimer stating that it is just author’s views and the site does not hold any responsibility whatsoever. This clearly indicates that nothing is certain. Everyone is predicting and hoping that things go fine. Continue reading

Beginner Series – Learn the interface

In the previous article in the series, I have mentioned about how to go about opening a trading account. There are various broker houses and selecting one is always a troublesome option. Choose a broker according to your convenience. This is most important step. Ensure that you get good service from them. Ask as many people as possible before deciding on one. Trader buys stock and sells them at a better price where as an investor buys stock keeps it till its real value is met and he sells it. The time period is what that has to be noticed in here. Mutual Fund Entry Load Abolished

SEBI has abolished the Entry load for the Mutual Funds. That means after the NFO (New Fund Offer) if any investor wants to enter into that particular Fund, he had to pay certain amount as Entry Load as he is going to invest in the middle of the Fund’s life cycle. Now, SEBI has abolished it. This was not necessary for the Assets Management Company (AMC) but they thought it would be nice idea to charge the investors and now SEBI has taken a stand for the investors as in time of such financial turmoil. SEBI is more concerned about the investors and it want to bring in the faith that things are all fine. Continue reading
